Job Title: HGV Technician

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 DOE

Hours: 44 hours per week

Shift Options: Early, late or 4-on/4-off – very flexible depending on preference.

Location: Weston-super-Mare

A well-established commercial vehicle recovery and fleet services business is looking for an experienced HGV Commercial Technician to join their workshop team.

This is a varied role working across the company’s own fleet, customer vehicles on planned maintenance schedules and occasional retail repair work. The business operates a busy workshop environment and is looking for a reliable technician with solid hands-on HGV experience.

HGV Technician – The Role

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Carry out road tests where required.
• Work on the company’s own fleet as well as customer vehicles.
• Occasionally deal directly with customers in a professional manner.
• Maintain a safe, tidy and efficient workshop environment.

HGV Technician – About You

• Experienced HGV / Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Time-served or professionally qualified.
• Good knowledge of hydraulics, electrics and vehicle diagnostics.
• Strong experience in servicing, repairs and fault finding.
• Experience with MOT inspections and MOT preparation.
• Polite, punctual and reliable.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clean driving licence preferred, although certain endorsements may be considered.
