A fantastic new opportunity has arisen to work for one of our clients within their expanding international freight team based in Coleshill. Our clients offer all Freight Forwarding services including Air Freight, Sea Freight, Road Freight, Logistics and Fulfilment, but this role will initially focus on Ocean Freight but will evolve to working on Air freight and road freight also.
Freight Forwarder- Summary
The main purpose of the role is to provide shipping, transport and forwarding expertise across Ocean movements, to build and develop relationships with customers, understand their needs and requirements. To provide service information, and quotations, take bookings and champion the needs of the customer.
Freight Forwarder- Responsibilities
- To operate, provide service information, quotations, take bookings and champion the needs of the customer.
- Offer a high standard of customer service, by providing accurate and appropriate information and demonstrating a professional, helpful, and positive manner.
- Handle Ocean shipments operationally from start to finish, protecting the company from unpaid accounts by taking due note and following the company policies regarding credit ratings and outstanding account balances.
- Receive incoming enquiries and collect all the necessary information, to ensure bookings are correctly and accurately processed.
- Process shipment information in a timely manner to prevent delays.
- Engage with customers and provide appropriate quotations.
- To collate all the necessary information to ensure any order progress queries from customers are dealt with efficiently and they are kept always informed of the status of the order.
- To liaise with customs brokers when required, providing them with accurate information to ensure goods are quickly cleared for import/export in accordance with the Customer’s requirements.
Freight Forwarder-Requirements
- Have a knowledge and understanding of Customs Regulations/Dangerous Goods/Insurance rules.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience within a similar role
- A solid knowledge of the import and export market
- Extensive working knowledge and experience of customs procedures and documentation
- Confident and effective communication skills (verbal and electronic), with the ability to build relationships with customers.
Freight Forwarder-Remunerations
- 09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday.
- Salary £30,000-£35,000
