Our client is a well-known high-end fitout & restoration contractor based in South London. They provide bespoke fibrous plastering finishes, high end fit out & heritage restoration services to commercial and high-end residential properties across the UK.
Due to a strong forward order book confirmed for 2024, they are in need of a Senior Project Manager to join the team.
As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and driving site teams, project delivery and client liaison. The successful candidate would be responsible for several projects at any one time, and preferably have a background in high-end/commercial fit out.
This role presents an opportunity to work on some of the most prestigious projects/buildings in the country, and would suit a meticulous, driven & ambitious construction professional.
Position Overview – Senior Project Manager
- Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, timelines, and resources required. Coordinate project activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing communication, addressing inquiries, and providing regular updates on project progress. Proactively identify client needs and opportunities for additional services, fostering long-term relationships and driving customer satisfaction.
- Lead and motivate project teams, including designers, craftsmen, contractors, and subcontractors, to achieve project goals. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Maintain rigorous quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, conducting regular inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry regulations. Implement corrective actions as needed to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
- Identify potential risks and constraints associated with projects, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize impact. Proactively monitor project metrics and performance indicators, addressing deviations and escalating issues as necessary to senior management.
- Monitor project budgets, expenses, and profitability, tracking costs and revenues to achieve financial objectives. Prepare accurate forecasts and financial reports, analysing variances and recommending adjustments to optimize project outcomes.
- Drive process improvements and best practices across project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Encourage innovation and creativity in project execution, exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Position Requirements – Senior Project Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Several years of experience in project management within the construction, architecture, high-end/commercial fit-out sectors, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-centric approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project etc.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulations.
