My client is a reputable Transport and Distribution company, based in Redditch currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team. They specialise in client supply transport, warehousing, and distribution services to multiple industries with national/regional coverage. Utilising a large company fleet and operating across the UK with the facilities to transport, store, and distribution.

They are seeking a professional Transport Planner to join their head office in Redditch and successfully route the company owned fleet. The ideal candidate will have previous working experience within a busy traffic office and knowledge of the general haulage industry.

Key Responsibilities

• As an integral part of the team, you will ensure company compliance with all transport policies, legislation, and procedures.
• Dealing with multi-drop deliveries and solving any issues the drivers may have.
• Handling dispatches, collections, returns, and ensuring all deliveries are quality checked, correctly packaged, and allocated.
• Working to set deadlines.
• Planning a fleet of HGVS in various UK and Europe destinations.
• Identify operational issues and any potential problems and providing opportunities to improve the service and efficiency of the company.

Requirements

• Must be able to work well in a team, as well using your own initiative.
• Good at working under pressure in a busy environment.
• Knowledge of driver hours.
• Strong UK and European geographical knowledge.
• Excellent customer service, having a clear and concise telephone manner.
• Strong IT knowledge.

Company Benefits

• Salary £30,000 – £35,000 (Dependent on experience)
• Monday – Friday 8am-6pm.
• May – August, the occasional Saturday morning (8am-12pm) would be required if the company required.
• 28 days’ holiday – increases one day per each year of service up to five years.
• Parking on site.
• Other benefits to be discussed at interview stage.
