Transport Operations Manager
Operations Manager required! My client is a leading UK logistics company, specialising in next-day and same-day delivery of air and sea freight. They are now looking for an operations Manager to join their friendly, dynamic team, playing a crucial role in managing and developing the team.
Transport Operations Manager – Responsibilities
- Ensure all reporting is completed on time
- Ensure all Drivers both PAYE and ISP are fully compliant with PDA usage
- Proactively sit in the operation reviewing the service job by job
- Train and develop staff
- Liaise and work with the customer liaison and warehouse teams.
- Ensure that the team are constantly trying to achieve the very best service, both actual and perceived.
- Manage budget, KPI performance targets and identifying opportunities to deliver change initiatives to improve performance and maximise profits.
- Oversee the coordination of the fleet, ensuring all deliveries and collections are made timely and cost effectively.
Transport Operations Manager – Requirements
- Strong background in team management/leadership
- Proven background in the transport and logistics industry
- Experience in successful people management
- Strong understanding of relevant compliances and legislations in transport/logistics and health and safety
- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
Remuneration
- Monday – Friday 8am to 6pm / 1-hour unpaid break / Contractual 45 hours per week
- Salary – £55,000 – £58,000
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays
